ABOUT ME...
I was born in Salisbury, Wiltshire but have spent the majority of my life in Cornwall. I have always loved the combination of Sonic and Visual Art, the combination of making music, putting on live events and visual art in the forms of merchandise, promotion/brand design and cover art is important to me, creating a full identity for both music and musician.
I create characters and pieces of art that contain a narrative. I also take commissions and in the future I wish to work with musicians on creating their outward facing aesthetic.
MY WORK
My art filters through different mediums to express different facets of my own internal dialogues and conversations. The more colourful, bold and abstract pieces done usually large scale in Acrylic are centred around body image and the celebration of confidence within expression of self and how individuality drives forward the vibrancy of the paintings. I love to use lines to represent connective tissues, arteries, the vascular systems, and circuitry of the body. They support the body in a way that is reminiscent of the time spent in the womb when you were safe and you weren't even aware of the world on our bodies.

I usually prefer Pen, Biro and Ink as my chosen mediums to achieve my darker pieces and sketches. I like the scratchy textures and creating little small scale drawings usually of strange mangled or scary faces. This works it's way into my digital drawings also that concentrate predominantly on caricatured and overly exaggerated faces features or expressions through line work. These pieces feel like a release of deep expression almost like a scream to get it all out.
The next steps I would like to take is the combining of these two polar opposite styles as I feel they could really touch on strong chosen narratives of self worth, individuality and relationships. Whilst transferring this style over to a Tattoo Apprenticeship to start in the near future.

Working with Lino cuts to print on fabric and paper/card has a fantastic grittiness that works great for band merchandise or art combining words or lettering. The effect it gives is more personal and human rather than a machine making it. Because of this I like to work into the imperfections, bring them out and make them the central theme.

The visualisation of music or the sonic space through the medium of art for single or album covers is a great passion of mine. I love taking both my own music and other peoples visions and making them a reality.
