We as a band have been devastated by the injustice and appalling treatment of black lives across the world - something catalysed by the deaths of people like George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Elijah McClain and countless more in the US - and have been doing our best as individuals to support the BLM movement as it has fought for an end to racial injustice and police brutality. We’ve been taking the time to educate ourselves and examine our own privilege, especially the underlying systematic racism within our own country, and we want to use this blog and our platform as artists to continue the discussion. Now more than ever, we need to keep the momentum going, and do our part to uplift black voices and advocate for change.
This is a collaborative post containing some phenomenal black artists that we think everyone needs to take a look at. Alongside these wonderful people it includes loads of links to social media Influencers, organisations that are working to educate and support people, donation links, petitions, what you can do to show support if you don’t have the money, helpful films, books, and much more!
It’s a war against systematic racism and simply not doing anything means you allow the many years of racial violence and segregation a pardon, which is inexcusable.
There are so many things that you can do, the list is long and very accessible:
Post and Share on Social Media.
Protest.
Register to vote! https://www.vote.org/ US https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote UK
Stream Videos (all the $ generated from ads will be donated to the BLM movement) However Youtube took down Zoe Amira’s Video, so if we find any new links we will post them here!
Sign Petitions.
Donate.

Make Art (whether it be drawing, singing, writing, dancing, etc. Promote the #BLM movement. )
Email local MP’s.
Email government officials (here is a template to send to Minnesota government officials tinyurl.com/emailforfloyd/ , to copy-paste into google) We recommend changing it significantly and personalising it so that it doesn't come across as mass identical mail.
